Artist: Jennifer Tran
Through Chinese calligraphy, the dance of Butoh and projection art, this live installation performance creates a dream-like landscape exploring one's complex identity.
The artist will be performing from within the 100 Story Building window, surrounded by stories, dreams and aspirations of children across Melbourne. Passersby from Nicholson Street Mall are able to walk under an open tent and interact with the live window performance. The audience space will be illuminated by the visual projection art and stories will be heard through an experimental soundscape. This work forms a meditative space for reflection of the past, the present and the future of migration and its context within Footscray.
The stories are taken from the annual children’s literary project Early Harvest.
