The Night Heron
The Portal is a sensory corridor inviting you to enter and engage between. As you pass through space to space, see and feel your senses respond and adapt to the architecture. Perhaps its semitransparency asks a philosophical question about that moment in time.
Pause, wonder and experience the joy of the linear sensations. Question the ways in which we encounter our urban areas and how simple architecture can change by how we engage with it. In Footscray, a simple sidewalk can change completely by a passing African woman in her colourful attire and a shop can be transformed by the Vietnamese voices of the traders.
Made up of LED lights, this work invites you to feel the texture of the materials surrounding you, allowing you to imagine another place that you can engage and interact with.
5pm – late.
